What is it about?
Ajāmila - A Tale of Fall and Redemption is our very first AI-inspired movie, created to bring an ancient story into a cinematic form using the possibilities of generative technology. The film explores the life of Ajāmila, a man who fell from his virtuous beginnings but ultimately found deliverance, showing how the power of a single holy name can transform destiny.
The journey of creation
This project was both exciting and challenging, especially because it was my very first attempt at making a film of any kind, and I had no prior experience with AI tools. The learning curve was steep, but every step of the process was rewarding. From baby steps, it grew into a full production, one that demanded patience, persistence, and countless hours of refining prompts to get the right visuals, voices, and scenes.
The process
Altogether, it took close to 50 hours spread across weekends to complete the film within a month. Each scene required deep visualisation, careful prompting, and the discipline to keep adjusting until the result matched the inner picture of the story. In order to do this properly, I spent significant time re-reading the original narration and immersing myself in the meanings behind it. This not only improved the creative quality but also became a transformative and life-changing journey in itself.
